Investors Circle’s 2025 Program

Mastering Private Equity for Film Financing: A Practical Guide
16 May 2025 (15:30-16:30) | Producers Club (Lérins)
This hands-on session will explore equity financing, its various forms (sponsorship, co-production, financial participation), and its role at different production stages.

Financing the Future
18 May 2025 (14:30-15:00) | Plage des Palmes (Goéland Beach, Croisette)
In an ever-shifting financing and production landscape, the shape of dealmaking can change from year to year or even month to month. Roeg Sutherland, co-head of CAA Media Finance, takes the temperature of the market for independent film in 2025 and the near future. Sutherland will offer insightful analysis about the kinds of films and talents that are attracting funding now, how the global markets are aligning, how private equity is working with soft money, and which major players are really taking risks

How Talent Drives Investment
18 May 2025 (15:00-16:00) | Plage des Palmes (Goéland Beach, Croisette)
This panel dives into how the right names unlock financing across studios, independents and streamers — and how rising stars, strong IP, and talent-run companies are reshaping the landscape.

The Marché du Film’s Investors Circle aims to highlight and support artistically ambitious film projects while providing essential financial backing. For the first time, we are selecting projects of the highest caliber to present to top-tier investors. In light of the current financial landscape and Cannes’ unique positioning, we believe it’s relevant to explore new opportunities for funding through private investment, and we hope this event will grow in the coming years.

— Guillaume Esmiol, Executive Director of the Marché du Film
